This has probably been the least impactful transfer, next to Hord. As a Junior he has no recorded stats, while most of the freshmen have seen significant game time already. Haven't kept up on all injuries, I know Hord was injured a lot of his career. Kind of a mystery, Jackson was rated a 4 star recruit coming in, looks like he may not have the skills to compete at the next level.

I'm not really familiar with the kid...was he one of Charlie's recruits or did he come before then?

Richard Jackson was in the first of Charlie's classes, Hord was in Willingham's last. Both were rated as 4 star athletes, but never saw playing time on the field. Hord's wasn't so much his fault, he was injury plagued quite a bit. Supposidly Jackson just couldn't get the mechanics/mental aspect of the position down.

Things were not looking good for both Hord and Jackson going into the 2008 season. They were backups to sophomores and freshmen already, along with the lone senior starting receiver, David Grimes. It seems the freshman manchild, Michael Floyd, had already passed Jackson in early summer practices.

The team is currently very deep on receivers, running backs, and looking good at QB still with Dayne Crist coming in. The O-line recruits have been coming in, I'm hoping that the line is starting to get the experience they need to dominate. They've all bulked up for this season, with the average size over 300 lbs now.

Actually, it's worse than that. His reasoning? "Their schedule is easy". That's right - he doesn't even try to say Notre Dame isn't bad, just that their schedule is easy. Lou is slipping.
