They lose by my count 14 Seniors. 8 On Offense, most notably Quinn, Samardijza, McKnight and there are losses on the line. The numbers though may be deceptive, in the same manner that our D-number losses were last year. Losses in their defensive backfield and line are also well documentted - total of 6 on D depart for certain.
Unless Clausen is truly all-world the QB duties may fall between Frazer and Jones. Folks I hear talk up Frazer as coaches favorite, Jones as a better talent in play. Then you have the Bionic one.

Bottom line, I'm not sold that with relatively limited numbers of departures that they are going to be in for a full world of hurt next year. Think 9-3 or better.

They lose their entire offense......including the only thing that makes the offense work. I think 9-3 would be a luck filled season for them next year. You can already give them losses to Michigan, Penn State, and USC....and that's without looking at their schedule.

Ouch! An 18 year old true freshman QB getting his D1A baptism by Tenuta, Bradley, English, and Dantonio will be beyond ugly. Then there's a breather when they'll race Purdue to 42 points, followed by @UCLA, BC, and USC.

I may just tune in to all of ND's games next year to see Claussen get tossed around like a rag doll.

They could realistically end October with a record of 1-7.

when these losses are all starters, and the backups get remarkably limited playing time, it will hurt quite a bit.

The schedule is remarkable front-loaded too, which is bad with new people to break in. They could sneeze and win their last 4 games (Navy is usually decent, but they always beat Navy) but by that time it may not matter at all.

PSU - Loss (stampede away from said wagon)
UM - Loss... Blowout (UM will run/pass at will)
MSU - ___ ? Sparty is always tough, and ND is down
Purdue - ___ ? Aerial assault, who does the scoring for ND?
UCLA - ____ ? Basically everyone returns for UCLA.
BC - ___ ? Another tough game for ND.
USC - Loss, ugly. Still dramatically different than Ty?
Navy - Win.
Air Force - Win
Duke - Win
Stanford - Win

Three guaranteed losses (PSU, UM, USC).
Lose one if not 2+ (GT, MSU, Purdue, UCLA, BC).


No amount of hype or bowl ratings will rescue ND's BCS hopes next year.

I know he's said he'll be at Notre Ame until he's fired or retires, but does anyone think he might be swayed by NFL money and attention?

If ND wins six next year, I'll have 6 reasons (the losses) to celebrate like there's no tomorrow. Watching ND lose is like Christmas coming early!

I can't wait to see what the mastermind-hut does with all those new kiddos starting. If it's worse than it is now, then I'd be one scared ND fan. The program's overhyping over the past two years is going to bite them big when they can barely crack the .500 mark. YES!!!

All BS-ing aside, the one thing I will be very interested in observing next year is the demeanor that Weis has on the sideline with his young QB and young WRs, especially when they make a mistake. That will say a lot as to how the season will go, and also how Weis will be perceived with recruits in the future. He hasn't broken in a new QB yet...when he does, everyone will be watching.
