How 'bout 'The Producers'? A movie based on a broadway musical based on a movie.

Harrison Ford gets any older and its going to be Indiana Jones and the search for where he left his goddamn remote. I can see the whip and pistol attached to his walker now. |

As I'm the one who got us off on this tangent on the "Football Only" thread; I guess it's my responsibility to get the discussion back to Notre Dame football...

What confuses me is that ND seems to be equally at a disadvantage due the the presence of Ty's recruits and the loss of Ty's recruits. I guess they just can't win.

So, Skip Bayless was hosting the "hot seat" bs segment they do on sportscenter with some dude I can't remember. It was, of course, about N_tre _ame and whether Jabba should be on the hotseat. The guest argued yes, because in year three, his team has regressed horribly and he's yet to win a "big game". Bayless argued in his usual animated jackass way that he did great the first two years and it's, of course, Willingham's fault he's in his current bind because of his poor recruiting. The guest said, "Well, who did Weis win with his first two years on the job? Ty's recruits" "He's had time to bring in many of his own players and the team is now a joke" (paraphrasing). Bayless: SILENCE.
I love watching that assbag get owned like that. |

what the clueless idiots fail to realize is that if they're going to assume that weis and ntre ame's problems are largely due to the players that willingham brought in, it only stands to reason that ntre ame's production should be getting better the farther the program gets from willingham's firing. in fact, it's just the opposite. under weis, ntre ame's two best seasons have been with willingham's players almost completely filling the rosters. the farther we get from willingham's firing, the more it is about chuck's players and his coaching.
this whole "it's the fault of willingham and his players" position is just so freakin' counterintuitive. |

Imagine if you would that Jim Tressel lost virtually an entire class. Let's say the class of 2003. Could he even field a football team four years later in 2006, let alone make a run at the Big Ten title or the NC? I actually can buy into the argument that CW was hurt by those two classes. The issue Domer's are missing is that ND's struggles don't simply reflect a lack of talent. They reflect a lack of fundamentals, a lack of execution and no evidence that players that have been developing over any period of time. |
