You know, nearly every analyst/commentator has homeristic tendencies towards certain schools, but it's their job to be somewhat subtle about it in order to appear objective. Mr. Holthhhzzz makes absolutely zero attempt at that and now he comes off as no more than a senile comedy act. It's pathetic that he collects a paycheck for basically being an on air punchline. Hey, given the departure of Ryan Mallet seems to me to leave the ND - Michigan game up for grabs. That's a serious drop off in talent from Henne, Long, Hart, Arrington and Manningham, the loss of Crable on defense, and if Dick Wad doesn't land Terrell...

If they can get by Michigan State, Notre Dame could roll all the way to the USC game and then finish up by taking back the commander's cup. I can see where this team could realistically be in the top 10 by the end of the season.

I don't see it, unless Charlie has learned something about player development I have a hard time seeing them have a 6 win season, the thing about last year was it didn't look like those players had bought into his coaching at all, they were out there, going through the motions but no one really seemed to be giving the effort needing to win.

Not to mention the pure coaching mistakes, not going for the field goal against Navy, etc... Now, I realize their schedule is a lot easier next year, but still, unless those players can get into Weis's coaching style, they aren't going to have much progress.

I realize they were on a two game winning streak at the end of the season, but that was Duke and Stanford, on any given week a good high school team would stand a strong chance against those teams.

I agree, the team looked lost most of the season, I saw no consistent effort, except for a few seniors who knew their time was coming to a close and played hard til the end. There were also tons of fundamental mistakes that go back to coaching (or lack thereof) in my opinion.

I think the first couple of games will tell us how NoD's season will go. If they have some success early, then the players will build confidence and may buy into what CW is selling, if not I expect another toilet bowl appearance for the Irish. It really did seem like he lost his team a couple of times last season, it'll be interesting to see if that changes, and CW has learned anything about dealing with unfinished products.
