ESPN Article on Mackovic
ESPN Article on Mackovic
There are two sides to every story, but this doesn't paint a pretty picture. While I'm sure Woody used to lay into his players, I never heard one question that he wanted anything but the best for them.
Tressel really is a special guy in that his concern for the players seems genuine and this article made me appreciate that even more. Win or lose I'll be proud of our coach. Now if only he could open up the offense a bit more...

Something tells me if that coach gets another job as a head coach, the other coaches competeing for the same recruits will have them read that article... could limit his chances with some kids...

Sounds like Mackovic's best new job opportunity would be suing for libal, because I think with this (and other rumors surrounding his tenure) he'll be hard pressed to get another head coaching job.

BITB: Not sure he can sue for libel. If everything that kid said is true (verbally abused him, etc.), then it's not libel. There is no crime in stating facts.

Mililani, don't take me so literally... my keyboard's "sarcasm lock" key is stuck in the on position. I just meant he's screwed.
Sounds like it couldn't have happened to a nicer guy, but you never know with these things. Just look at all the players that came out of the woodwork to drag an upstanding guy like Bobby Knight through the mud... oh wait, nevermind.

I'm surprised he came back this year after the little mutiny last year.

BITB, I hear what you're saying. Buuuuuuut, after this last off season and all the "bad" and "inaccurate" press the Buckeyes have received I'm a little leary to jump on anyone's case. Doesn't sound too good for Mac though.
