What a loss to the Big Ten. I wish the best for his family. R.I.P.

Thousands gather at Assembly Hall to remember Hoeppner's life
Associated Press
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Jane Hoeppner wanted her husband to have one last game day.
So players dressed in their white jerseys and red sweat pants, met at Assembly Hall and even got a pep talk from the coach's wife. But when Terry Hoeppner couldn't lead them across the parking lot to the football stadium, his spirit did.

An Emotional Moment
Yesterday,
I saw a great display of emotion in the battle for the Old Oaken Bucket.
As most of you know, Hoosiers coach Terry Hoeppner passed away over the summer.
This year, the Hoosiers started off fast, only to fade a bit, but are now bowl eligible thanks to not only a dramatic win over their biggest rival on a late field goal, but it came on a very emotional day where his widow Jane and the rest of the Hoeppner family showed up.
The late IU coach had a dream to "Play 13," and it looks like it's going to happen.
After the game, I listened to an emotional interview with Jane, and it really felt special.
This is a great story, IMO.

An amazing ending to the season for IU. Here's hoping they win their bowl game this year. What a way to pull out the victory on Saturday with that long yard field goal after nearly caving in. Neat story, I'm happy for them.

Thsi is a little late but I had the pleasure of meeting both coach Hep and Randy Walker during my four years in Oxford. I was dating a girl from my dorm at the time and we drove out to to the covered bridge by the "Y" for a picnic. My car at the time was something I had gotten for 250 bucks from a dining hall server so it wasn't a surprise that the battery was dead when we were finished. We walked across 732 to the Y to look for a phone to call public safety for a jump and ran into none other than coach Hep. We told him our plight and he called PS for us from his office phone. I remember sitting in his office while he made the call thinking of some of the coaches that sat in that office. The coolest thing was that as we left I thanked him profusely and he said to me "Pay it forward."
Rest in Peace coach Hep
