Indiana signs Terry Hoeppner from Miami (OH): I'm not sure it's a real step up for him, but it's hard to resist the Big10 when you're in the MAC. Another good coaching addition to the best-coached conference in the nation.

I'd say it's a definite step up, seeing as he gets to play against the likes of Ohio State, Michigan, etc., nearly every year.

Mili,
I don't know if I agree that it's a step up or not. Time will tell but I don't know if he can bring Indiana out of the doldrums or not. Foster did take NW out of the cellar though and he's another Miami guy.
I just don't see it working out for him but hope that it does as he is a great coach whose put in his time. |

But he was winning before, whereas now... well, you know how it goes at Indiana. Good pick for the Hoosiers, certainly.

The reason I think it's a step up is that he gets the chance to recruit better players to play against better teams in a better conference. If he does a great job at a Miami or other such school, it's an accomplishment...but he does a great job at a Big Ten school, especially a perennial weak one like Indiana, that's a much bigger one.
