Zemek at CFBNews.com was saying that on the last drive, Smith should have been ruled out of bounds on the 4th down catch, for all practical purposes ending the game. I was watching that live, saw the replays, and thought they were at best inconclusive, and if I had to say either way, I thought he was in bounds. The announcers were saying pretty much the same thing.
Did anybody else think it was clear that Smith was either in or out of bounds on that play?
I know USC lost anyway, but every replay official in the state of Oregon needs a break whenever he can get it.

Zemek is wrong. The video is inconclusive. Given that all that is kicked up is green grass (no white chalk), if anything the evidence leans toward him being in.
