When have you scheduled Miami in the regular season, at least in the last 10 years(Thats as far back as I can search currently)? Granted, we haven't scheduled Miami either in the last 10 years during the regular season, the last one was in 88 or 89 I think. Washington still sucks, Tyrone Willingham is such a great coach hes really turned them around...Washington State in '02-'03 would be decent, but they're only good for a few seasons before they drop off again, when you guys scheduled them they were probably in the middle of their usual seasons.

Notre Dame will be absolutely demolished in their bowl game. I know it's cliche to say Notre Dame is overrated by they really are. They would struggle to go to a bowl game in any conference.

This was the original response I was going with. I simply put out that ND could have had a shot to run the table in a conference like the ACC, other conferences are debateable as it pertains to this year. It would seem weird to see ND in the ACC, but it would be strange to see them in any conference in football. They were thinking about joining in '98 I think when Miami and other teams were heading that way, but they decided to stick with the Big East and also rejected an invitation for their other sports to join the Big 10.
Anyway, that was my main point....I didn't say OSU played an easy schedule, I didn't say Notre Dame beat every one of the tough teams they played (By any stretch of the imagination), I simply said that many years they could benefit from a conference schedule when it came to bowl games

I was unaware Ohio State fans ran around to every board they could find touting their schedule. Likewise, I was unaware that they did so so often they earned a reputation of the same.
|
You mean ND fans? If so, this is the only OSU board I post on, because your mods were real cool during the Fiesta bowl game last year and sent the invitation. I think most years we have a good schedule, yes, not this year though.

Now I hope you are not going to parse the term "regular season" when you see this answer.
1999 Giants Stadium, Kick-Off Classic, Miami vs Ohio State (Buckeyes went down 23-12), opening game of that season. The bleeding started early when Miami took their first possession in for a TD, then capped it with a Santana Moss run past the OSU secondary for damned near 70 yards.
That was by my admittedly very old-fashioned math just over 7 years ago.
I'd like to claim the NC Fiesta Bowl, but you did say regular, not post-season.
BTW, as far as I can tell from talking to ND alumni relatives there is damned close to zero chance that ND will ever again go for Convicts vs Catholics. (Though if they chose to do so, it would not, at this time, be a tough game).

Is your argument regarding the strength of the teams when the games were scheduled, when they were played, or both?

Damn, I did miss that kickoff classic against Miami, I apologize then. Whatever resource I used previously wasn't very reputable it seems, and unfortunately it seems ESPN only covers as far back as 2002 from what I can see. This time I checked the past schedule straight from the OSU athletics website and found it.
As far as the Catholics vs. Convicts game, I think you're right. I don't think ND will schedule another one anytime soon, at least in Miami. The last one was embarassing for Miami fans (Probably like the FIU game), my family was at the game, they saw Miami fans spitting on ND fans there and apparantly lots of other things they wouldn't mention to me. Basically just bad sportsmanship, poor manners, and worse things. I didn't get to see it for myself though, I wasn't going to games yet at that time, my first one was the Boston College upset of '93 ![[censored]ed](http://www.buckeyeplanet.com/forum/images/smilies/cussing2.gif)

uluk... I was making a generalization about ND fans is all. Check your PMs by the way, I sent you a link to a better resource for football history.
I'll leave it here too:

What is it about the facts I posted earlier that you guys don't understand?
