What a game!

Tom Zetts willed his team to victory on that last td drive of 88 yards. I'm on a roll, 2 weeks in a row going to great college football games (though I must admit last week's was a bit louder). Now let's get ready for next week

Hopefully coach Heacock will learn some clock management skills sometime soon though.. he made some bad calls in that area today.

It's too late for this year, but there are enough I-AA fans on BPlanet to put together a V-Bet on the I-AA tournament bracket (someone do it for next year--I don't know how, but I'll play).

My picks:

Youngstown State (#4) vs. Appalachian State (#1). Sorry, but my App St Mountaineers are on a mission. ASU successfully defends their National Championship. The winner of this game wins it all.

The other bracket will feature UMass vs New Hampshire (a dangerous offense) vs. Montana (though Southern Illinois could surprise). But none of these will beat App St or Youngstown.

Here are the stats the first time these two teams played this season:

couldn't get the table to format, so here's my summary -
ysu out rushed ill. st. 345 yards to 18 yards. Marcus Mason had 176 of those and qb Tom Zetts had 110.

ill state was also 10-31 passing for 143 yards

ysu was -2 in the turnover margin and had 8 penalties for 60 yards compared to 1 for 5 yards that the redbirds had.

ysu won 27-13


not saying this will be an easy game for YSU, since it is the playoffs and all.. but the penguins seemed to have all the answers for Ill St. the first time they played (which was in their stadium..this time it's a home game).

I'm expecting Mason to continue racking up rushing yards and a comfortable win.

it's listed as an ESPN GamePlan game. Don't know if that helps you at all...
