Bo with no NC's
There was an article I read today directed at those scUM fans ripping on LLLoyd for his losses to OSU. One thing nobody mentions that this article did:
National championships:
LLLoyd 1
Bo 0
If Bo was an OSU coach , would he be as loved as Bo is there? I doubt it. Bo just seems to have been a slightly better coach than Cooper, and nothing even close to JT or Woody.

"Just slightly better than Cooper"?? Is that a joke?
Bo coached at Michigan 21 years. Cooper coached at Ohio State 13. Cooper lost more games to Michigan than Bo lost to Ohio State. Bo won far more overall and lost far less.
Jim Tressel is a helluva football coach but he's got a long way to go to catch up to Bo and Woody. If national championships are the only thing you're basing that off of, you're missing the point.

I guess you can look at whatever stats you want to justify your argument. Bo's Rose Bowl record (2-8) and bowl record in general (5-12) was not good either. Cooper was actually a good coach against every team but UM.

agreed. Bo quite simply is incredibly overrated. To coach for 21 years and never win a NC at the all time winningest school is just pathetic.

That's the "winnest" post I've seen today.
Berating the recently deceased in order to provoke reactions on a message board is such a charming pastime.

Yeah, speaking the truth about a coach's legacy is certainly "berating"
The cold hard facts show that Bo wasn't all that great as a coach. The Big 10 was incredibly weak in teh 70s which meant that Bo really only had 2 games to win every year to win it all and he failed every year. Just like Coop in the 90s.
Remember, the talk about how great scUM is really is just that, talk. They went about SIXTY years between national titles and they act like they have some amazing legacy. The fact that they revere a coach who never won it all speaks volumes.

Not saying he was bad. Overall, pretty successful. But to compare him to Bo? Like comparing Mack Brown and JoePa. Ralph Friedgen and Bobby Bowden. Not even credible. The "cold hard facts" are that Bo Schembechler is an all-time great, and that tibor75 is pretty much the only person who doesn't think so. And I find it hard to believe that he even believes what he's saying and isn't trying to stir up s**t.
