NIU to face TCU in Poinsettia Bowl
MAC Report broke the news late Saturday Night:
http://www.macreportonline.com/NIU_Poinsettia_Bowl.html
Confirmation today in the San Diego Trib:
http://www.signonsandiego.com/sports/college_football/20061127-1413-bn27pointsett.html
After being snubbed last year, and in 2003 when we went 10-2, it's great to be going bowling! It's fantastic that we get to play a very good TCU team in a place like San Diego!
It's out 3rd bowl bid EVER, and all 3 have been in California. We're on a 2 game win streak in bowl, and hopefully we can stretch it to 3.
Go Huskies!
Good luck in the NC to you Buckeyes!

Congrats on the bid...though I think some of your previous teams were more deserving than this one in all honesty, I'm glad you got a chance to get to one while Wolfe was a senior...it's great for the fans of any MAC school when they can get to a bowl. TCU has a fine defense, so it should actually be a very good game. Best of luck.

Oh I agree. The 2003 team (10-2 wins over 3 BCS teams) was much more deserving then this years team, and last years team (7-4 in regular season 7-5 including MAC Championship game) accomplished more then this years team. Both were probably more deserving then this years team. Luckily the cards fell out way where only Sun Belt teams could have a chance at a bowl over us, and we were chosen for a very good bowl game. Central Michigan is going to face a Sun Belt team in Motor City Bowl, so we got pretty lucky this year.
TCU is a very good team and will probably be 10-2 going into the game. However we have played our best ball the last two weeks outscoring CMU and EMU 58-10, so I think we will put up a good fight. With Nicholson FINALLY starting at QB (and only because Horvath got hurt) it gives us an actual passing game.
It should be a good game.
Thanks for the congrats.

The 2003 team beat one team with a winning record. What exactly made them deserving?

Congrats G-FORCE.
There is still time to switch to an OSU fan though!
