Two Thoughts:
- He deserves it. The paucity of minority head coaches in Div. IA is appalling. Coach English has proven his mastery of the game at the highest level, and it's about time that somebody teaches the Pac-10 how to play on the other side of the ball.
- (yea!)

I agree completely...but I will be very surprised if Coach English heads to Stanford knowing the limited pool of athletes from which he can recruit.
He is a "fly to the football" guy...Stanford is more of a "get their as fast as you can" team.

And a VERY cheesy "forward lateral" call against the bucks by the Pac 8 officials. If I'm not mistaken, they also penalized the bucks fifteen for a spiked ball after an interception. At the risk of sounding like a Cryami fan, the Bucks got jobbed... so did several Michigan teams... until the Big 10 insisted on officials from other conferences to call the Rose Bowl games. The PAC 8/10 officials are still among the most feared in the world of college football, just ask Oklahoma.

I don't know if that happened in the RB against Stanford, but Neal Colzie got flagged after an interception in the 1975 RB against USC. It happened right in front of me - but I'm not sure if it was a 15-yarder , or a 'very cheesy' delay of game penalty. It did help the Buckeyes not get a TD, as the runback was well into into the red zone. Ended up losing that game by 1 point on the diving 2-point conversion catch by Shelton Diggs, and USC won the UPI NC instead of tOSU. Oklahoma won the AP that year, but didn't play a bowl game and were ineligible in the Coaches Poll due to probation.
