Whoever that guy was, he was MUCH worse last year. I knew who would be coming out based on Chris Fowler's introduction. The intro amounted to, "I'm going to open this package and see what comes out. Everybody step back."
I appreciate football history as much as anyone this side of BB73, and celebrating the old-timers is great. But some people are cut out for public speaking and some are not. Being a part of college football history earns you my respect, but it does not qualify you for national television.

I'm generally not averse to unearned praise, but I've gotta say, I don't think I deserve any congratulations for this.
As for Brady Quinn winning the Maxwell Award, who really cares? Troy Smith took 2 out of 3 of the "also-ran" awards, and he's going to take the only one that anyone remembers. Of that, there is not a shred of doubt. |

This just in: The Maxwell will be re-named next year to the Peyton Manning Award. It will go to the college qb that posts the best numbers against bad teams, but can't win a big game.
