Two Michigan football players charged in assault
Two University of Michigan football players are accused of attacking a fellow student in the West Quad residence hall for no apparent reason on St. Patrick's Day.

Carson Butler, 19, and Christian Richards III, 19, were arraigned today in 15th District Court on one count of aggravated assault and one count of assault and battery each. They were released on $5,000 personal bond and have a pre-trial hearing March 27.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but even though the two players mentioned in the above article arent "stars" on the team, that sounds like it still might hurt the TSUN depth chart. DB and TE are already pretty thin for UM arent they?

Butler is a big loss to their offense. He was a very athletic TE who saw major action last year with injuries to their top 2 TE's.

Carr had left wiggle room for the pot posse suspended this spring (Butler, Arrington, Germany), two of which had previous strikes against them. One would have to assume that Butler has to be history, especially with back to back incidents.

Michigan Football Player Cited for Marijuana Possession

University of Michigan defensive end Eugene Germany was ticketed for marijuana possession last month, according to 15th District Court records. Germany admitted responsibility and paid a $50 fine on Feb. 20 at the court in Ann Arbor.
Last week, Michigan coach Lloyd Carr said Germany would be held out of spring practices, which began Saturday. Carr declined to give a reason for his decision.
A backup, the 6-foot-2-inch, 279-pound Germany saw action in eight games and had three tackles last season.

Am I the only one who thinks this is all sounding a bit like the final death knell of the John Cooper years? Team off a hot year, losing to its biggest rival, blowing its bowl game, and discipline issues arising from every side?

I'll keep saying this...if Carr loses to us again this year--regardless of how the rest of their season is going--he will leave, either voluntarily or involuntarily.

Losing Butler would hurt the TE depth, but IMO, he drops the ball entirely too much. Probably was going to be a starter this year, but having Massey out there for more snaps is not the worst thing that can happen. And Steve Watson is a respectable-looking recruit who ought to contribute.

There was an article in the Oakland Press about TSUNs scrimmage the other day. It said with Hart on the sideline after arthroscopic shoulder surgery, there was this 157 walk-on RB that was turning heads. The guy wrestles for TSUN and asked LLLLOyd if he could try out.

The guys name starts with an M like Milano or something..apparently from Rocky River (Cleveland) ...anyone remember this guy?

I think that it will officially be "voluntarily." But there's a chance, I think, that the powers-that-be up there will "strongly encourage" him to "voluntarily" leave.

My prediction is that this is his last year. If he wins a national championship, he will retire on top. If he doesn't, he'll just say that he accomplished everything he wanted to, and retire.
