Can't exactly compare him to Smith considering Smith didn't see much of the field this year due to Bryan Billick riding Kyle Boller.

You refuse to see the writing on the wall. Michigan has indeed sent a sizeable amount of QBs to the NFL, but they were all, ALL, drop-back pro-style QBs, which is the polar opposite of what DickRod will be imploying. So, in the regard of developing QBs for the NFL while DickRod is there, you may as well take the "Michigan" signs down from the facilities because DickRod's QBs will in no way, shape, or form resemble what has previously come out of Ann Arbor.

Mike Tomczak and Kent Graham certainly compare favorably to Todd Collins, Elvis Grbac, Brian Griese and John Navarre. So what is the argument? Save for one QB, who despite sucking in AA, goes on to greatness, is the argument that you have produced more average NFL QB's than tOSU?

New coaches should get a clean slate. What does Tressel have to do with Cooper, Bruce, or Hayes?

So far Tressel has gotten to use Krenzel, Smith, Boeckman, and in the future Pryor.

He got Krenzel to the league with a limited skill set which is quite impressive.

Troy Smith was considered a first round lock until the debacle in the desert. Even at that, Tressel devloped him into a Heisman QB.

Boeckman is rated as a top 3 senior QB by Mel Kiper. A bit generous IMO, but he will definately be working somewhere next year.

So far, I'd say Tressel's track record is quite good. Unfortunately, all we hear is tOSU cannot propel anyone into solid NFL QB's.

Would Krenzel be a starting QB in the NFL had he gone to Michigan and played under Carr? What if he played under Rodriguez?

I guess my argument is, Tressel developed Troy Smith, his first QB commit into a pro-player and Heisman winner. Boeckman is on his way to the NFL. What else could you expect out of him? YSU QB's starting in the NFL?

As indicated above, while teaching at OSU, and Cooper was the coach (not known for his push for academics as much as JT), there was one such "meatheaded" defensive lineman. He did a meatheaded thing that caused him to be "suspended for violating rules" for OSU's bowl game that year. Trust me, since I was on the front line on that one, it was purely academic related. And this defensive lineman declared after his junior year because he wouldn't have been eligible academically his senior year.

So to say "no school" is going.....is not quite correct.

What round was New England's starting QB drafted in again? As I recall, when he was a senior, wasn't the skunkbear faithful wanting him benched in favor of another QB?

Maybe Brady wasn't really developed at scUM and his true development didn't take place until he hit the NFL.

scUM developed Brady into a 6th round draft pick and won exactly what with him? TSUN fans and this argument make me chuckle. Lets look...

Harbaugh? Okay, had some success.
Grbac? Marginal QB...had a couple decent years. Again drafted low.
Griese? Marginal QB...started for a couple years, not a lot of success. Can't remember when he was drafted. 3rd or 4th round?
Brady? OK, very successful. But to say he was developed in aa is laughable.

Stop acting like you are pumping out all-pro, 1st round draft choices. Better track record than tOSU? Certainly, but aside from Brady (who again, developed in NE, not aa), that's not an overwhelming list of names. Also, the slate's whiped clean with DickRod's gimmicky offense. He will not put kids in the nfl. Never has. Don't give me Shaun King either, because his offense has evolved considerably from what he was employing at Tulane.

I said it once, I'll say it again, for whatever reason Michigan has done a better job of recruiting QBs to thier program. I firmly believe that part of the reason Cooper did so poorly against them in the 90s had to do with the fact that Michigan consistently put a better QB on the field. In all other aspects the Buckeye teams of the 90s were equal to or better than Michigan.

I'd also say that Troy Smith is the first time the Buckeye's had a qb comparable to/better than the Michigan starter. Boeckman hardly distinguished himself in this year's game.

08 with Boeckman and 09 with Pryor may be the first time in 20 years that OSU enters The Game with the better QB
