I'm not so sure that he earned any more years. In this age of "what have you done for me lately," the fans remember that Carr lost to Ohio State AGAIN and lost the bowl game AGAIN. 11-0 to start the year? So what?
I have a strong feeling that Carr will be out after this year (not officially fired, but retired) if he doesn't either beat Ohio State or win a BCS bowl game.

Wow that would be a big blow to UM if true.

When talking about players and their conditions, the letters "ACL" are rarely used in good news about that player. Especially when they're so close to the word "tore." But I don't know what this means. Does this usually mean he's out all of spring? Or more along the lines of a majority or all of the fall, too?

if he indeed tore his acl, he will likely be in rehab for about 6 months and possibly 8 months to a year. that doesn't even speak of how he will play once he's finished with rehab. it's a really bad injury.

The Carlos Brown notes is contrary to what super_mario posted on Friday.
EDIT - unless this is a very recent development, in which case...

If Brown continues what he's been doing in the spring into the fall then there is a chance he could be the nickelback.

Maybe switching someone to nickleback is how Lloyd Carr punishes his RB's who don't show up to practice.
