Rodriguez would not discuss Boren's situation specifically. But he told The Ann Arbor News that his players and coaches are his family and that he's going to "coach every player like I was coaching my own son."
|
I'm not going to say that Rod is a bad parent. But I don't want to be everyone's son either.

Well we could go back to tradition and schedule the Illinois game as the last of the season... Gee, I wonder why we don't do that?
Seriously, why do you give a [censored] about The Game? Because year in and year out it brings two of the best programs in all of college football together. Year in and year out it decides who goes where for a bowl game, year in and year out it produces the Big 10 champion. even when, like this year, that champion is not on the field. Often a great performance in the game produces a Heisman Trophy. If either team goes on a prolonged drought you can kiss good-by to The Game being carried nationally, pre- game hype about the last tackle and who dot's the eye, half-time stories about Bo and Woody, people painting their faces maize and blue or donning scarlet and gray wigs.
Like it or not, you're only as good as your schedule and your schedule is only as good as your conference. You want your last game of the year to be meaningful. (and think about how much space we give on this site to fretting about SEC teams that don't leave the South, the entire ACC, the Big Least and Snow White and the 11 dwarfs on the West Coast)
And then think about this: the 10 and 1 Buckeyes travel to Ann Arbor to play 1 and 10 Michigan on a sloppy field, with the Buckeye QB unable to throw (hell, even staying on his feet is a challenge) they win 14 to 9. If you think that team gets into the BCS Chapionship game you're crazy.

It puts a smile on my face that Michigan is going through some transition pains right now...but it is very important to the rivalry and the conference that Michigan return to their top 10 status year in and year out.

at mgoblog on the comments they are now saying Justin left because UM wouldn't take little brother.
Also they like to compare their new situation to BYU stating that Bronco brought in a new attitude that BYU could outwork their more talented competition. The problem is BYU is still the most talented player in the conference.

That's all well and good, but don't expect me to wish them well, or even just well enough to make the Buckeyes look good when they beat them like a rented mule. If they are going to be a decent top-notch program, they should have to do it in spite of my constant and unwavering desire to see them destroyed.

Ohio State versus M*ch*g*n trumps everything. It trumps your record. It trumps whether it's dangerous or you don't have a chance or any of those kinds of things. It trumps all things because it's the Ohio State-M*ch*g*n game. And I would like to think our guys understand that, but there's only one demonstration of understanding that and that's at 12:00 noon on Saturday.

Not to go OT, but IMO that is a better solution than playing The Game on Thanksgiving weekend.

Or a Big Ten Championship game against anyone else from the "other division" on the first Saturday in December, as a part of some television network's Championship Saturday.
