I heard on the radio yesterday that Long stated his reason for return as "Unfinished business", don't think tOSU isn't in their heads...
You say it like that's such a bad thing for Michigan.....I'd say when Tressel was hired and made his "you'll be proud of us in 300-some days in Ann Arbor" speech, Michigan was in OSU's collective heads.....and it turned out OK. That's how rivalries stay rivalries.

Hart's good but lets not get carried away. The only time his name should be in the same sentence as those two is when someone is naming short black guys who play running back. It pretty much ends there.

He's a Jamie Morris clone in my opinion.

I don't even know why, but this struck me as very funny. It's also completely true. I do think Hart can be a good NFL running back in maybe the Warrick Dunn mold, because I think he can run between the tackles and will work hard, but I don't think he (or most anyone else) will ever be in the Smith and Sanders class.

It's about time that we're in Michigan's heads. Through the 90's, I got sick and tired of that "MSU is our rival" crap that they were spewing. Welcome back, weasels. Nothing like being smacked in the mouth a few times to get your attention, now is there?

Personally, I am looking forward to Long and Hart coming back. It will be a classic matchup watching Hart versus Beanie ("Meet the new boss. Same as the old boss.") Wells. I'm already counting down the days. Is it 2007 yet??

Another year of VLoyd driving Hart into the ground and he'll have nothing left for the NFL. He'll finish 2006 with about 750 career carries. Throw another 300 in next year and he's well over 1000 in his college career.

The Michigan defense would be different under Ron English.

That reminds me of Jerry Sandusky. He was a long time (31 years) assistant coach/defensive coordinator at Penn State; and believed to be the heir apparent for the head coaching position (i.e. Joe Paterno's job). He had opportunities to be a head coach at other schools and turned them down. Guess who retired first?

Nothing is guarenteed in life except death and taxes; and probably a "future" head coaching job at your current school. In my opinion, if Ron English got an opportunity to be a head coach at a "top" division 1-A school he should "go for it".

If he goes all of 2007 injury free. excellent point though.

Lllloyd will be full of excuses after The Game w/o Hart.

I doubt that's gonna happen (injury free) because every big ten opponent will be gunning for them and tOSU next year. OOC schedule looks ho hum next year.

Imagine how great it would feel it walk into Ann Arbor next year against the #1 team in the country, with Henne, Hart, Hart, Long, Manningham, Arrington, and come out with a big upset win.

Henne and Hart = 0-4

That would be nice. They'll be a great team, but that would be an opportunity for a great win.

Exactly. Michigan loses a lot on defense this year (even more if Branch leaves), but the offense should be pretty damn good. They may slip early in the year, but I wouldn't be at all surprised to see them undefeated for the game. I expect our Bucks to drop 1 or 2 before going into the game so the Bucks will have nothing to lose with a strong offensive line, a battering ram of a running back, and a strong defense. LLLLLoyd will feel all of the pressure that Coop felt taking an undefeated team into the game against a strong team with nothing to lose.

Michigan's Status

Henne: He should return or forever face the label as a loser. How does that Dead Schembechler's song go? He looks like an average quality dinosaur version of a pocket passer, can you say Elvis the knob Grbac (compared to the new version...Troy Smith)?

Hart: Leave. RB's have a limited time in the pro's. He should take advantage of the opportunity while his body can take it. It doesn't matter whether he's Barry Sanders or not, he's now in the best combo of marketing and health position possible.

Long: I think he's crazy not to go, but I admire his tenacity. He's a very good player. I kind of hate him because he broke Bobby Carpenter's leg.

It all just goes to show that a fantastic 12-win season with a loss to OSU is a losing season. These guys are [censored]ed off and desperate. Damn, doesn't that feel good?

I'm really so proud of our team and not only for their football accomplishments. Troy was all class with the Heisman. Pitt and Gonzo and Teddy were top notch in dealing with the NFL rumors. I'm truly amazed how well coached these kids are on so many levels. They've all got incredible talent, but also so much more. Tressel's a great teacher. It's great to be a Buckeye.
