PSU has an inept QB and their running game is unsettled (though I hope Scott does well he went to my HS) |

YSU will run the ball up the gut and that's not your strong suit either.

For most teams, losing the DTs means that stuffing the run won't be your strong suit. But for Ohio State under JT, stuffing the run is always our strong suit. I have some stats to back that up which I will post tomorrow morning (but probably not in this thread). |

We'll have to archive this one. You are taking PSU and Wisky far too lightly. The combined effect of a rivalry game, a night game at Wisky and then OSU all back to back will bite anyone, especially a team built the way tsun is this year. PSU after Oregon and ND? Same concept less hostile environment. Also, you guys might want to enjoy the time your dominating Sparty, Dantonio with a B10 school's resources is another thing I wouldn't take lightly. Every knowlegeable OSU fan I know said a private "ah [censored]" when he got that job. They will be a team to deal with soon and will be a tough out from day 1 with him as coach. They probably aren't good enough to beat the good teams yet but they will be tough. |

MSU's problem wasn't talent... it was leadership and coaching. With Dantonio at their helm, they are far from being a team to sleep on (ask Rutgers). Sounds like someone doesn't have much respect for their other conference rival there ![]() Edit: If MSU is a D-1AA team, what does that make Minnesota? Because I remember you guys getting beat by them IN THE BIG HOUSE just two short years ago... Last edited by BuckTwenty; 08-08-2007 at 11:53 PM. Reason: Addition to bottom of post |

Actually, everyone who tried to run the ball up the middle on us last year was stuffed...it's when they bounced/went outside is when we were vulnerable. If YSU tries to run up the middle on us, they'll be staring a negative rushing total right in the face...

Jim Tressel is the reason that any scUM fan would ever consider MSU as a 1-AA school. When Cooper was coaching the Buckeyes, scUM used to try to act like Ohio State didn't even matter anymore and that MSU was their chief rival along with Notre Dame. How far we have come in six short seasons.

Again, Colt is fantastic, and he's going to have an enormous year and probably will be a first team All-American but that doesn't change the fact that Chad Henne and Brian Brohm are better pro prospects (also better pro prospects than Pat White who's #2 on your list) And for the record I think Colt will get his chance in the pros and prob be pretty good, my only argument has been that Chad Henne has oodles of talent and just b/c he's 0-3 against the Bucks doesn't mean he sucks |

Again, Henne is a better pro prospect based on what? His extra 15 or so pounds? Brennan has been playing in a pro-style offense under the direction of a former pro quarterback and pro quarterbacks and head coach. |

On top of that you say Hawaii runs a pro-style offense which isn't the case...they run a wide open attack in which they throw the ball primarily out of shotgun (in fact I'd be likely to call it a run and shoot).....again, wininging the ball around isn't the equivalent of a pro-style offense even though June Jones used to be a NFL coach....does any team in the NFL run the run and shoot anymore outside the 2 minute drill? Michigan's offense is a much better example of a pro-style offense Chad Henne also has Michigan's pedigree for producing quarterbacks working for him And again, yes Hennes frame and size will be a major selling point for him....do you not remeber the scouts drooling over Jamracus Russel's and Brady Quinn's size.......I know Colt is a mere 15 lbs lighter, but it looks like a lot more, as Brennan looks pretty slender ....I know it sounds like a minor point, but come a month beofre the draft, all we'll hear about is Henne's NFL ready body Last edited by billmac91; 08-09-2007 at 01:23 AM. |

There's no way Hawaii runs a more pro-style offense than Michigan, unless everyone in the pros is going to a 4-5 wide set every play and letting their QB chuck it downfield with no running game. Mind you, I'd be drooling over Russell and Quinn's size as selling points for them too considering how [censored]ty the QB class was this year. Then again, Troy Smith was what, 6 foot, 215 and will probably end up as the #2 or #3 QB in this class (and we all know I'm not exactly the biggest Buckeye booster around here) |

As for Troy Smith, you don't think the Debacle in the Desert severely hurt his draft standing? Tell me you think he still would've been a 5th round pick had he gone 24-32-0 for 300+ yards and 3 TDs leading Ohio State to a 3-TD rout over Florida. Plus, Troy's "frame" wasn't the issue at camps, it was his height, whereas both Brennan and Henne are markedly taller and are the same height. Thus, Troy's draft position has absolutely zip to do with this...nada. |
