I've been saying since we beat Michigan up in whoreville in 2005: If Carr losses to Tressel both in 2006 (which he did) and 2007, then regardless of the results of the other games, he's gone. Well, a 4-loss season (which it will be after this weekend) this year all but guarantees his leaving...

Good grief. Glancing through the depth chart, Michigan is losing a ton of players this season...
Henne, Hart, Manningham (if he goes), Arrington, Long, Kraus, Ciulla - 7 offensive starters... Jamison, Johnson, Crable, CGraham, Trent, Englemon, Adams - 7 defensive starters... And Lopata and Gingell are both seniors - time to break in another new kicker.... I don't doubt that there are talented backups and incoming talent, but the new coach is going to have his work cut out for him. |

Absolutely, I look for tsun to be very average next year. I hear that every Div 2 team wants to play them next year.

What were they this year?

Such a shame that they don't get recruiting classes like NoD.

I figure they could lose some of those verbals after a 4 loss season and a new coach. I doubt they told the recruits that they wouldnt be playing for Carr.

He took care of them with a guaranteed extra year, but that may be simply a swell severance package for many. Quote:
Couple in a statue at QB with lousy ball security, and there is major reason to be concerned. |

As jwinslow alluded to, English and Jackson did A LOT of the recruiting. Cissoko is a recruit I'm very concerned about losing. He loved Carr and said he might leave if Carr was let go. I know Illinois is very high on him and that he and Vontae Davis are good friends. Not exactly what I want to hear considering I consider him probably the most important recruit in the class.
Looking at our class, I'm also concerned with the lack of pure numbers on the D side of the ball. One DT, 3 LB, and one CB. That's not even close to enough. I like all the commits (Martin, Witherspoon, Demens, Fitzgerald, Cissoko) but I feel at least 2-3 more DBs are needed in addition to some help on the DL. At CB, I know Jarred Holley and Robby Green are interested but I don't feel too good about either one. Rahim Moore, a current UCLA commit, is rumored to have interest in UM, and so do Spencer Adams and Brandon Smith. I like our odds with Adams and Smith, but I can't say for sure like I can say Terrelle Pryor is going to OSU. Moral of the story is, we need to change some of our recruiting philosophies. We seem to skimp on DBs too much. They're essential fellas, get some. |

I guess the rivals guy already talked to basically all of our commits and they all said they are staying no matter what. I guess they all have a pretty strong bond, seeing how Carr just told the press he is retiring.

If nothing else I'm confident he would have learned not to hit the QB in the head somewhere in those 4 years. |
