I thought chow was mentioned in years past for some high profile jobs but always declined b/c he was content at USC? didn't he leave ncst to go back to the west coast? or am i dreaming something else?

Chow would be scary with all of that FL talent on his roster - but can he be as good of a HC as he is an OC?
Not saying he couldn't do it - just that there would be a lot more hats he would have to wear.
He would seem to be one of the lowest risk candidates out there.

And he would have a hell of a QB to work with in Chris Leak.

They probably told him, if you leave now you dont get paid.
Coach out the rest of the season as a lame duck, and you get X,XXX,XXX dollars.

I thought he was a finalist last year for Arizona (don't remember which one) that they ultimately hired one of the Stoops for. I don't remember hearing he yanked his own name, just that Stoops received it.

The reason Zook agreed to it is that he is a dumb ass.

At the press conference, the AD said that had been reported incorrectly. Only Zook has been fired and the other coaches can be retained by the new coach if offered.
Most likely the vast majority of them will leave or not be retained.
