You have to admit that Zook's recruiting strategy is unique. As a recruit its hard to turn down this pitch: "Son, we have done exhaustive evalution of all the football players in the U.S. Based on that research, you are one of the the top 637 (1769 if you count other classes...underclassmen) athletes in your class we are willing to extend a scholarship offer to.

you have to offer early or you could lose out on these players.

He doesn't like early commits but he hands out early offers to every athlete in HS football in North America and parts of Europe???? Can't have it both ways

and you believe everything you hear. illinois has not had as many offers as reported in the Sun-Times. it was totally bogus. He tells kids flat out and wait to see if they are sure before they commit. Zook does not pressure kids to commit like some coaches. He is not going to turn down a high-profile player if they do want to commit, but Zook urges patience.

as much as it humors me that Zook seems to offer every kid in Ohio during their sophomore year, early offers as a recruiting strategy and pressuring kids to commit early are two separate things

I'd guess that you'd better inform Jheranie of that fact....

a bit touchy eh? I was exaggerating and poking a little fun at you, apparently I hit a nerve, which makes it even funnier, keep trying to offer Ohio kids early to try and pick them off before Ohio State comes into the picture
