Illinois/Zook Recruiting
Well, I just returned tonight after spending the past four days at the South Carolina Coach's Association Summer Clinic. I listened to Ron Zook speak about Florida Gator football...the whole time I was listening to this guy, I was giving thanks for having JT at the helm at tOSU. Zook disagreed with recent proposals to limit the "wine & dine" recruiting process among other issues. He just seemed like a used car salesman to me...had a spin for every issue. Even though I was a biased listener, he just seemed very slippery to me. When the floor was opened for questions, I almost asked about the Crowder and WW issues, but decided to keep my mouth shut.
Thank God JT is running this show...
I'm off to "Hell Camp" (18 practices in 5 days) friday morning so prayers are appreciated

It was interesting to hear Coach Pough from South Carolina State bring up the point of leveling the recruiting for schools with smaller budgets...the look of disgust on Zook's face was priceless. Hell, if Florida is worried about outrecruiting SCSU, that program is in trouble

You shouldn't have held back Grad? Let it fly....what's the worst that could have happened? Maybe Zook giving you a red slippery look and asking "Who the f*ck are you, some Tressel transplant?" Then you could have said yes! Now that's priceless!!
Good luck with camp and be mindful of the heat....

Nice to see a guy like Ron Zook stick to his guns and send the right messages to his players!!!
Makes you appreciate what kind of coach we have in Coach Tressel!!

What were they suspended for? The man told his players what game they were suspended for, and stuck to it. No big deal, as far as I'm concerned.

Yeah, a message like that will stay with his players forever. It won't help them get anywhere, just stay with them and cause them trouble.
