Boykin, 21, will return to court July 20 when Oxford Judge Larry Little will decide whether to have the case presented to a grand jury. Boykin was arrested by Oxford Police on March 10 after a neighbor at his off-campus apartment complex called police to report a late afternoon disturbance, according to the police report. Appearing before Little on Wednesday, Boykin said he argued with his girlfriend but did not physically abuse her. "It was an argument ... a misunderstanding," Boykin said in court. "But I never put my hands on her or anything like that." Ole Miss coach Ed Orgeron has said Boykin will be disciplined by the team, but he declined to specify the extent of the punishment. Boykin, a defensive tackle from Bessemer, Ala., twice last season named SEC defensive lineman of the week and finished the year with 36 tackles. The 6-foot-2, 285-pound standout is recovering from offseason knee surgery and is not participating in spring practice.

Those in the know are saying that Ohio State is going to recieve a clean bill of health from the NCAA and may end up being commended for the programs that they have in place.
Will this be reported with the same vigor that the negative reports have been? I'm going to go out on a limb and say no.

The other players that they "interviewed" for the original story all recanted and all made mention of the way ESPN mislead them in order to get the quotes that it needed to fit the story. Shockingly enough none of these statements made their way into any ESPN story of any sort. The actions of ESPN have been absolutely despicible during this entire ordeal with the low point being Mark and Trev calling for Geiger and JT's jobs on air. This has been the mother of all hatchet jobs, no way around it. There is a clear anti-OSU bias at play.

4 PSU players suspended
3 starters and 1 part time starter. I can't imagine it will be for the season but you never know what has gone on before this and what Joe Pa will do.

"Dismissed" is an interesting word to use - much stronger that "suspended" and implying the need for an additional decision before rejoining the squad.
I would be surprised if the player who had missed an entire prior season for disciplinary reasons was given a third chance.

Also gotta consider that having a weapon in the dorms is enough to get booted from school if they want to really enforce it. In this day and age I can't imagine they wouldn't want to.
This sounds like just a case of sheer stupidity run amok but if my kid lived in those dorms and an arrow came flying through the wall because of these dumb [censored]s I would be head hunting. This could very well have an impact on PSU's season. At the very least it looks like their starting center is in a serious situation. The other two are a starting RG and DT. Thats a chunk of your returning starters right there and they need all the help on O they can get. Having to rebuild 2/5 of the OL sure can't help.

Not a Division 1A school, but a noteworthy item. I hope they'll be able to come up with the $20 fine in real money sometime in the next 2 years. I bolded that part of the article.

Gregory Mills, a junior tackle and noseguard from Conway, and Kentrel Rogers, a junior tailback from Fordyce, pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of theft of property in Faulkner County Circuit Court. Judge Michael Maggio gave each a one-year suspended jail sentences. The pair must make $20 restitution over the next two years -- a penalty for attempting to pass a fake $20 bill at a food court. Prosecutors say the pair were caught with several hundred dollars of counterfeit money but only passed only one bill. Under the conditions of Maggio's sentence, Mills and Rogers must complete 12 hours per semester toward their degree in each of the next two years. If they fail, prosecutors can reinstate a forgery charge, Deputy Prosecutor David Clark said Tuesday. Clark said the pair were very cooperative and deserved a plea-bargain. "They wanted to make amends immediately," Clark added. He said the two showed more remorse than any other defendants he has ever seen. 4 PSU linemen kicked off team
I guess we are not the only team with problems. This makes the Game at PSU look a little better for the Buckeyes. I guess 2-3 were supposed to make majot impact.

It is not clear if or when they will be allowed to rejoin the program. Meanwhile, team spokesman Jeff Nelson would neither confirm nor deny the story, saying in an e-mail to FOS, "Coach [Joe] Paterno addressed that issue Wednesday and nothing has changed since then." Nelson had no further comment. According to the Associated Press, Paxson and Reed were both recently charged with criminal mischief in connection with the bow-and-arrow incident, which caused an estimated $700 worth of damage. Nobody was hurt in the incident. Smith and Richardson were not charged. At a press conference Wednesday, Paterno was vague on how he planned to handle Paxson and Reed. “This has been going on since January,” Paterno said. “I have heard six different stories. I am going to wait. I'll try to do what is appropriate. I don't know any more than you guys know, really. I will be honest with you. It has been up, down, back and forth. I just want to wait and see what happens. I'll let the university handle it their way and then I will handle it my way.” All four players are still enrolled at the university. Smith started every game at center last season after missing the 2003 season for disciplinary reasons. Reed started all but two games at right guard in 2004, and Richardson started the season's first six games at right tackle before being pulled from the lineup. Arizona State: Loren Wade Expected to be Charged with First-Degree Murder
Saturday, March 26, 2005 Update: Wade is in custody and expected to be charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of former ASU player Brandon Falkner outside a Scottsdale club early Saturday morning, the Arizona Republic reports. Recommendation: Police said Wade, 21, fired one shot after exchanging "sharp words" with Falkner, who then drove several hundred feet across the parking lot, struck another vehicle and hit a tree. Police say Wade went to the club about 2:30 a.m. to pick up girlfriend Haley vanBlommestein but approached Falkner's vehicle when he couldn't find her. Detective Sam Bailey of Scottsdale police said it was unclear whether the men knew each other. L Wade was suspended for all but 3 games last year for receiving improper benefits from a university employee and now is charged with first degree murder.
Wonder if ESPN's mob will use an entire show to call for the coach and AD's jobs?? By their criteria this sounds like a program clearly out of control.

Don't hold your breath  I mean you can't really compare the two programs. A university employee gave the ASU kid benefits and then he blew another kid away. At Ohio State, Clarett claimed that he got benefits with nothing to back him up. Troy Smith got some money from a person not affiliated with Ohio State. Clearly Ohio State is the program with the problems
