I like the way they have it now... I would tweak it just a little bit. I would like to see the #4 team play the #1 team in a BCS bowl, and have the #2 and #3 teams play in a bowl. The winner of each game plays one more game after all the bowls are played.

This would add one game to the season. It would make the season very important (need to be #1-#4 on the BCS charts), and it would provide a mini-playoff. If you are the #5 team you shouldn't bicker, because the way it currently is if you are not 1 or 2, you're out (except this year ).

I don't think this would take away from the bowl games, and we would have a legit #1 when all is said and done.

That Mora meltdown is classic. It is worth noting that 1AA has fewer scholarships and less depth yet they still make it through the playoffs.

I am turning this game off at 21-7. Poor decision making, terrible D and Jason White sucks along with Bob Stoops and the entire BXII. They are soooo overrated.

I just can't believe what they are doing to themselves.

A true playoff system and none of this Plus 1 crap. I think a playoff would be a great way to separate the good from the great coaches too.

I was thinking the same thing with regard to coaches. I am impressed with #1Pete's job of preparing his team tonight. And I am equally surprised with OU's lack of focus which I attribute to poor coaching. I am not saying that tOSU would win but I would bet everything I own that we would not be blown out like this with one month to prepare.

A true playoff system I dont like because I think it rewards teams for getting hot at the end of the year, making those early games pretty much meaningless. Teams will stop scheduling tough out of conference games, and will start scheduling 1-AA teams and patsies.

I have considered that as well. There will still be penalties for teams that lose early in the season because they might not make the cutoff: 8, 16, whatever. I like the teams that can come in hot because that means they are playing tough in their respective conferences..which SHOULD be the hardest part of their schedule.

What could also happen that is not desirable is a team could sneak in with a conference championship from a weak division and not be the team with the best record in their conference.

I guess I want to see teams that are prepared and well coached. I can't REALLY take anything away from OU..they played hard all year and are undefeated. But I expected more than they brought to the dance.
