The Bulldogs went on to rout previously undefeated Hawaii 41-10 in the Sugar Bowl.
The resolution, which now goes to the Senate, calls the BCS system "the greatest disappointment of the 2007 college football season."

According to recent reports, the NCAA and the SEC have come to an agreement over allowing a playoff system to take place. The 12-team Southeastern Conference will play a playoff on it's own to decide the national champion, since they are so much better than everyone else, while the rest of the country will continue to play meaningless bowl games due to the fact that they simply cannot match the awesomeness of the SEC. And in other news, it's been decided that the national champion of the [censored]-poor conferences (I.E. non-SEC) will be ranked behind the worst SEC team due to the fact that the worst SEC team can beat the best team, from any other conference. Mark May will be on hand at the SEC's national championship game to suck the dick of the winner of the game.

You can count the BCS / FCS college presidents in favor of a playoff using one hand - and not all the fingers.

Gee is in the overwhelming majority - the playoff proponent College Presidents are Florida last year, Georgia this year and - next? Oh, and once Florida made it to the BCS Championship Florida's President changed his tune.

Gee doesn't look any worse than 110+ of his peers - let us not confuse that with the media asking his opinion and then using that against him and The Ohio State University, even if you personally favor a playoff.

I agree with your post. An overwhelming number of presidents prefer the current system.

I don't wantto hi-jack the thread into the college playoff talk so after this post I will likely refrain from discussion, but it would have been awesome if Gee accepted the position.

Regardless of other presidents' stances, I was embarrassed by Gee's position. The current system isn't about the players and fans. It's about the presidents maintaining power and control.

I am not a fan of the playoffs. In fact, I guess I am a throwback to days of yore. How many teams? What happens to the regular season?
What happens when you have 4 or 8 teams and somehow USC, or OSU, or Texas, or Georgiea, or LSU get left out? Does the whining continue? I think having #1 and # 2 play in the BCS game is good enough. I liked the fact that it spurs conversation about who is best. I hate the "if only" aspect that the media and some have added. Just a thought.
