Actually, I don't really care so much that he called Pryor, it's all about what he said. He could have called and said something to TP like that he knows that there are rumors in the media and that he will be calling him after he addresses them with his team. I would have had no problem with that. But actively recruiting him to a school where he is not officially the coach, that is shady if not a violation.

He just could have handled it better.
Jim Tressel certainly would have.

Wonder if this coaching change means the once proud Michigan program had sold it's soul to be competitive?

Milwoods "right to the point" point nails this one spot on. Well put.

So how did he ensure that? Home visits by the coaching staff.
"You find out a lot about a guy," Rodriguez said. "They're probably cleaning it up for us, but they're going to their place of residence to talk to them and get to know them a little bit.
"Some are surprised, some aren't. That's good, especially when you have half your team living off campus. It's good for the old ball coaches to come by."

Seems unfair to portray Rodriguez as the cold, slimy, self-interested loser uninterested in his players.

I suppose that that little snippet from the article is supposed to paint a different picture of Dick. But honestly HTM, when I read what you had quoted from the article, and then your comment after, and what keeps running through my head is the old saying that no matter how nice of a dress you put on a pig, it is still a pig.

Then, I'll portray as the douchebag loser I'll hate until the end of time because now he has a [censored]ing swear word listed on his resume under his previous employers.

Rodriguez called a meeting. You don't just gather 90 football players on a Sunday morning and say "meeting in 5 minutes, be there."
Whatever. Nothing on you personally, but I can't expect much objectivity from a WVU fan on this subject.

Well, first off....Since all of the players were there anyways for practice, you call a team meeting ( which was scheduled the day before)...and you say...."Guys, i hate to be a prick and bail on my team and leave you guys hanging, but Im going to Michigan"....then after you tell your team, coaches, staff, etc....then you call Pryor once you turn in your resignation.....
Im sorry, but its not right to call a recruit before you tell your own team....thats dirty, and very classless.....enjoy him....
