"Dude, get real."??? That's the crushing unimpeachable argument that is supposed to show me the error of my ways? "Dude, get real"?

When you are concerned something hasn't happened, that means you want it to happen. When Christian Wilson is concerned that Rich Rodriguez hasn't called him, that means he wants him to call. It's that simple.

What's the premise here anyway? That Christian Wilson doesn't trust Rodriguez? That's what it sounds like. OK, assume for a minute that's true. Maybe Wilson's read all the stuff going and come to the conclusion he can't trust RR. Why, then, would he want to hear from him at all? Why would he even consider going somewhere, where he 100% doesn't trust the coach?

Continue in that vein a bit. The original original argument is that RR's sleeeeeeziness is going to hurt recruiting, and that recruits are backing away or will do so in the future. So....

Here's the full list of recruits that have decommitted since RR was hired, or may still do so in the future:

Christian Wilson

Here's the full list of recruits that trust the man enough to play for him for (hopefully) four years:

Dann O'Neill
Darryl Stonum
Brandon Moore
J.B. Fitzgerald
Marcus Witherspoon
Mike Martin
Sam McGuffie
Boubacar Cissoko
Kenny Demens
Kurt Wermers
Elliott Mealer
Mike Cox
Taylor Hill
Brandon Smith
Kevin Koger
Rocko Khoury
George Morales

Is it so hard to see why I'm not at all pessimistic about RR hurting the recruiting? Lost in all this is the fact that Michigan's had near-unprecedented success holding the recruiting class together - it's rare, when a coaching change happens, that you don't lose several recruits. Especially with such a drastic system change. Check out Nebraska - the list of ex-Husker recruits is staggering. One - only one - recruit has decommitted from Michigan (Weinke) and he did so before Rodriguez was hired. Just today, Witherspoon, one of the shakiest verbals, reaffirmed his commitment.

Seriously, HTM, I think much of this thread is overboard, but I'm not sure defending your school means reaching quite so far... the defense seems to be trying a little too hard.
The defense is outnumbered. Just replacing numbers with effort is all

One note on CleveBucks' list: I'll wait to pass judgment for a few more years; the '04 and '03 classes you list under RR were still Don Nehlen's recruits. Looking at three year's of RR's recruits and the last three year's of Nehlen's, RR has total 4, first day 2, and Nehlen has total 7, first day 3, which is still advantage Nehlen but not quite as overwhelming.

I was thinking about Pryor's recruitment. Then I thought about Batch being a QB for the Steelers. It just so happens that a WR that played for OSU is on the steelers...Santonio Holms. Holms may be the biggest deciding factor in this whole shooting match. I'm sure Batch and Holms have talked about Terrelle. I'm sure Holms explained why he left south florida to play in Columbus. I haven't heard anyone bring this up but I think its logical and a conversation between batch and Holms has probably occured.

Batch cannot ask any former Michigan players about RR because he has never coached a player from there in the league...something to think about.

We will see how Michigan does down the stretch...IMO there will be some defections. I mean when Michigan is getting beat out bt UC thats pretty bad.

I understand your sentiment and some people's needs to find any kind of advantage here, but Santonio isn't going to play that big a factor, and certainly not the "biggest deciding factor" in the situation. Either way, this isn't really the thread to be talking about it.

Well I see your point but when I want an opinion about someone I ask somebody they have went to school or worked with. That person can give you alot of information about things you noticed or things you didn't know already. Outside of the coaches involved themselves...Holms may be a huge factor.

So when Wilson says, and I quote, "It's just the fact of believing him." that means that finds RR to be unbelievable. It's that simple, right?
