Who will be Nebraska's Coach on 1/20/08?
Who will be the head football coach at the University of Nebraska on January 8th 20th, 2008?
If a new coach is named exactly on that day, that's the name that will decide this bet. This requires an official press conference - so if there is no head coach on the 20th (just leaks about an announcement), the 'No head coach' option will win this bet.

I'm not willing to write off Coach Callahan yet. However, another part of me thinks that he has lost the team. We have some of the best fans in the country and when they are leaving at halftime at homecoming? Not good!
As a passionate fan of the team it pains me to say this but I think he has lost the team. This season has been so disappointing! After 8 wins in 2005 and 9 wins in 2006 I thought the team would turn the corner. To see a implosion like this is so disheartening as a fan. The removal of the AD appears to be a scapegoat move if you ask me. Former AD Steve Pederson did a fantastic job in upgrading the facilities/stadium. However, he was not a popular AD. He took tremendous criticism for terminating Frank Solich. (Best thing he ever did.) Husker nation (new term) was divided during the whole Pederson Term. Pederson it seemed did not do a lot to make powerful friends. Hiring Tom Osborne does a lot to heal wounds but I wonder about his decision making. He messed up with Frank Solich.
Do they go with a new coach? Not sure yet. The last 5 weeks will be a audition for the staff. If they do make a change where do they go? Coach Callahan has recruited kids to play in the WCO. At this pt I'm not ready to go back to the option. Wild speculation about a new coach is abundant. I have heard Kelly from Cincinati, Gill from Buffalo, Dantonio from MSU as well as Pelini from LSU.
