...and more importantly, why was this thread exhumed?

Ohio State versus M*ch*g*n trumps everything. It trumps your record. It trumps whether it's dangerous or you don't have a chance or any of those kinds of things. It trumps all things because it's the Ohio State-M*ch*g*n game. And I would like to think our guys understand that, but there's only one demonstration of understanding that and that's at 12:00 noon on Saturday.

Tyrell Sutton
Perhaps this was addressed in an earlier thread but why didn't OSU aggressively recruit Tyrell Sutton... size? character? the Bam Childress "saga"?

Would have to assume its because he is a similiar runner to M.Wells, they had M.Wells ranked as the better back so he got the offer. I think they wanted to save their other scholies for a big back.
Edit: To give this theory more proof, they didn't even offer Ringer prior to the injury. Sure you could say it was grades, but i don't think so.

There's a thread on him here. I think the main concern was that he was very similar in build to Mo Wells and OSU didn't want to get 2 guys that close in style.

I don't have any insider access to answer the question, but I've got a hunch it has a lot to do with the courtship of Maurice Wells.
Just think how good Maurice must be for JT to pass on Tyrell Sutton. Scary good, is my guess. Time and change will surely show.
