I'm not disagreeing with your assessment of his running ability but a Heisman candidate next year? That's a bit of a stretch. Putting up very good numbers for a low-profile, mediocre team doesn't thrust one into the national Heisman picture.

He leads the nation in scoring and is second in rushing as a true freshmen. His team is in a BCS conference. He will be a Heisman candidate next year.

Heck with that. In all fairness, if he's putting up numbers like that THIS year, then he should be considered for the heisman THIS year. You'll be sure he won't get a vote though until he puts up numbers against us and PSU this year... and I don't see either of those happening... though he might put up better numbers that Lawrence Malroney against both.

To win the heisman, your team must be halfway successful...

Did you fail to notice that his team has won only 6 games?
Maybe he'll tear it up in the Motor City Bowl.

I was very impressed with Sutton. He may put up Heisman numbers next year, and he may be mentioned in Heisman candidate conversations, but he doesn't have a prayer at winning. Like 77 said, you have to win games to win the Heisman, and my money's on NW being worse next year.
