Navy's Paul Johnson has a pretty impressive resume between his 5 straight winning years there and 5 years of dominance at Georgia Southern (I-AA champs 1999 & 2000). And how about Jerry Moore?

Well... I'd think Paul Johnson's offense might harken them a bit too far back to the days of Bo...
And, I know (or assume) that the Jerry Moore comment was tongue-in-cheek... but... that brings up another point... how old is too old?
Lets say Johnson were a good candidate. He's 50. Seems like the top of the range to me.

With Carr still being there you can expect a Michigan man to get the job.
I think DeBord or even the defensive coordinator(Ron English) are the most likely
picks. Conservative all the way.
(If English doesn't get it, watch him bolt)

Can this Mike Trgovac fellow stop mobile QBs? Well, let's look at his success...
vs. Tennessee, 2007
Vince Young had 8 rushes for 25 yards and a score. He was 14-23, 110 yards, 2 picks.
vs. Atlanta, 1st meeting, 2006
Mike Vick had 7 rushes for 48 yards. 10-22 passing with 2 touchdowns.
vs. Atlanta, 2nd meeting, 2006
Mike Vick was 9-20 passing with 2 interceptions. 4 rushes for 32 yards. 177 yards total offense for Atlanta.
vs. Atlanta, 1st meeting, 2005
Mike Vick was 17-35 passing, 171 yards, 2 picks. 4 rushes for 27 yards.
vs. Atlanta, 2nd meeting, 2005
Vick was 15-24 passing, 115 yards, 1 interception. 1 rush for 0 yards. They put Schaub in later in the game.
How about his success against spread teams like the New Orleans Saints?
vs. New Orleans, 2007
Brees 29-47, 252 yards, 2 picks.
Bush 21 rushes, 67 yards. 9 rushes, 52 yards.
vs. New Orleans, first meeting, 2006
Brees 28-38, 349 yards, 1 TD.
Bush 11 rushes, 22 yards. 4 catches, 48 yards.
vs. New Orleans, second meeting, 2006
Key Starters Rested
Take all that as you will. Personally, I think he has had above average success stopping what Michigan has had a ton of problems stopping.

Not sure NFL results really translate to college. The zone-read option attack dominates in college, while it gets dominated in the NFL.

I don't think that's a very accurate comparasion, considering the talent of the players involved (NFL vs. CFB)
