What another great Rivalry this is. I know there is alot of bitterness in this rivalry compared to Ohio State and Michigan. Everyone in Alabama lives for this one day. I have talked with many fans from both schools and they too have thier stories to tell. Wow.

Who would have ever thought that the Iron Bowl would take a backseat to Kansas/Missouri?
This is one of the least important Iron Bowls I can EVER recall (9 losses combined (South Florida? UL-Monroe?), a likely shot at the Independence Bowl).
BTW, I like Auburn.

This is, as Jax would say, a "Hate" game more than a rivalry.
It's a cute little game that causes so much animosity that family members literally kill each other over it.
What gets me is how frequently children grow up to root for their parents rival. A 'bama fan at work currently has a son at Auburn.
When I found this out, I expressed surprise. He lividly and adamantly "observed" that if I lived close to Ann Arbor that I'd send my son to [censored]wad University (or whatever the name of the school in Ann Arbor is).
No...
[censored]ing...
Way...
I didn't press the point, because it was clear he wouldn't believe me anyway. But they just don't get it. There is just no way that I would send my son to [censored]wad U. No way.
They may hate each other.
They may shoot each other.
But the idea that their cute little Iron Bowl is anywhere near the same galaxy as The Game is too ridiculous to even laugh at.

This is so accurate. I have a good friend whose parents attended Auburn and Alabama. He's a good friend and applied to both schools, getting in to both. However, he is unsure as to which he wants to attend.
With that type of [censored], I feel safe saying that there is no way in hell that this rivalry comes even close to the likes of scUM- OSU.
