Now, you should also recognize that Pam actually appears to know more than some other announcers, Lundquist on CBS to name just one. The cause of my disappointment is purely her voice, which simply sounds too thin and airy for my liking. Plus, she has a style of sounding disconnected from the action - not a virtue when commentating on football in my view. Better suited to tennis, or perhaps golf, where getting buried in the background of the crowd noise is less likely.

Back to the topic at hand, I must admit that it is rewarding to see Miami fail. Ever since reading the SI article that glossed over Randy Shannon's criminal background and lauded his "rising above" to coach the Fighting Felons of Miami, I have wanted to see this result. It's never a good thing to ignore or minimize criminality, especially in a head coach of a major university football program.
