Jim Colletto
? OSU assistant: 1988 to '90, under John Cooper
? The skinny: Was head coach at Purdue from 1991 to '96, before becoming an assistant again in college and the NFL, where he currently is line coach of the Detroit Lions.

Walt Harris
? OSU assistant: 1995 and '96, under John Cooper
? The skinny: Was head coach at Pitt from 1997 to 2004, then at Stanford in 2005 and '06.

Lovie Smith
? OSU assistant: 1995, under John Cooper
? The skinny: Left to become an NFL assistant (Tampa Bay and St. Louis), then in 2004 became head coach of the Chicago Bears.

Ron Zook

Good job Coach Coop, he was a good coach , recruiter, but the 2-10-1 hurt me so bad. He is forgiven in my book.

Pretty nice coaching tree, but 2-10-1 does still hurt. I was very glad to see us win one against scUM with Gordon Gee back at the helm. I'll never forget some of Coops deer in the headlight looks against the skunkbears. Tress's calm controlled demeanor is such a contrast and I think one of the main reasons for his teams success against the school up north.

Being a buckeye requires you to understand the nature of the rivalry. Cooper never did.
