Can you validate that assertion, lol. Comparing which position?
As Buckeye fans, we appreciate stout defensive play, and USC has the #2 defense in the country. A good defense like theirs is essential for wiping the field with good teams. And for the most part, their track record at season's end and bowl games is impressive (save the UCLA game last year).
I only brought up the pummeling of Georgia because 1) I think the RB committee will pick UGA over Illinois, 2) It's an interesting matchup, 3) I would find it delightful to see a top SEC team get embarrassed, and 4) I think USC is playing like a team that could do that to UGA. I was not hoping to derail this thread with a discussion on how good USC is.

What would really be funny is if Tennessee beats LSU today and then Tennessee gets an automatic BCS bid and Georgia probably gets an at large that would put LSU in the Capital One Bowl against Michigan.
Les vs. Lloyd!!!!
I'd tune in!!
Go Bucks!!!!!

Trying to stay on topic...I don't understand.
I agree it would be nice to see a top SEC team get smoked, but it wouldn't deter the SEC faithful from pointing out the Georgia wasn't even the best team in their division, let alone the entire conference, and thus the win should have gone to USC. I also wouldn't want any more of the "USC is playing better than anyone else in the country right now" crap to get any added credibility.
I would love to see Illinois play against USC, but I will be happy as a clam if tOSU gets the opportunity to play USC.

I guess that would make Carr an exception to the rule, now wouldn't it?

CG: OSU vs. LSU
Sugar: UGA vs. Hawaii
Fiesta: Oklahoma vs. ASU
Orange: VT vs. Missouri/WVU
Rose: USC vs. Illinois/Missouri
I think it comes down to whether WVU gets in over Illinois. If the OB selects WVU, the RB would probably go with Mizzou? I just can't see Missouri, who only lost to Okla, getting knocked out of the BCS. And I think, despite the abysmal showing last night, WVU would still get in over Illinois in the OB. But I think the RB would choose Illinois over WVU.
I know the Sugar chooses first or second because they lost LSU. Does the Rose choose first or second because they lost OSU? Of the other bowls, I don't know the selection order.
Cap1: UF vs. Illinois
Outback: Tennessee vs. Wisconsin
Alamo: PSU vs. Texas
Insight: scUM vs. Texas Tech or A&M
Motor City: Iowa vs. CMU
So scUM has to pull for Ill to be invited to the BS, and play Florida in the Cap1, or else drop down to the Insight. If Ill does go to a BS bowl, Iowa moves up to the Insight and MSU/Indiana/Purdue gets invited to the Motor city.
I don't think there is a bowl specified for the Big10 #5 team. The Sun bowl isn't taking a Big10 team this year. I think that game will be South Fl vs. Oregon State, and Oregon will go to the Pioneer bowl.

Rose or Sugar gets first pick based on who is BCS #1. That should be tOSU, but there's a slight chance LSU could get to #1 with a boost from the computer rankings.
I think the Rose will take Illinois, and the Sugar will take Georgia.
Rose : USC-Illinois
Sugar: Georgia-Hawaii (they get the last choice)
Orange: Va. Tech-West Va.
Fiesta: Oklahoma-Kansas (these teams didn't play this year)

WVU is automatically in by winning the Big East.
