Sooners in unfamiliar role

Oklahoma a spoiler?
It just doesn't sound right, Sooners wide receiver Malcolm Kelly said Monday during a teleconference in advance of Saturday night's Big 12 championship game that pits top-ranked Missouri against No. 9 Oklahoma in San Antonio.
Missouri (11-1, 7-1 Big 12) needs a victory to gain a spot in the Bowl Championship Series title game. With two losses, Oklahoma (10-2, 6-2) is out of the national championship picture. The Sooners will be playing for the Big 12 title, a possible invitation to another BCS bowl and, as much as anything, pride. "You don't usually hear 'spoiler' (associated with Oklahoma)," Kelly said. "Usually that's some unranked team. Or somebody trying to play spoiler against Oklahoma."

I'm telling you though, the thing that I do not like is that Missouri is the underdog in this game. If I had to take a wild guess, I would say that Mizzou will come out and play passion and with vengeance towards Oklahoma and the people who set up the lines. I mean, honestly, how the hell do you have a number one team as a 3.5 point underdog? Only this year, and only in college football.
This game could go either way, and it's going to be an incredible game for Mizzou, Sooner, and Buckeye fans.
My God, the fun has just begun.

I've put vCash on Oklahoma twice this year, and lost my ass both times (vs. Colorado & vs. Texas - won but did not cover). I'm not touching this one.

Ohio State versus M*ch*g*n trumps everything. It trumps your record. It trumps whether it's dangerous or you don't have a chance or any of those kinds of things. It trumps all things because it's the Ohio State-M*ch*g*n game. And I would like to think our guys understand that, but there's only one demonstration of understanding that and that's at 12:00 noon on Saturday.

Also, if you read some of the press clippings from the first game, the OU players even said that they had a little let down after the RRSO the week before, and started coasting early when they were up 13, and let mizzou back in.
They turned it on after that, and it was all over.
Mizzo's TE is going to play. And OU's DE is only going to play as needed. So I think this is inaccurate on both accounts.

Missouri tight end questionable for Big 12 title game ESPN
Quote:
A sprained right ankle Chase Coffman first sustained at Oklahoma in mid-October is making the tight end the lone question mark for top-ranked Missouri in the Big 12 championship game on Saturday night.

"We've been pretty fortunate for the most part," Pinkel said. "We're a pretty healthy team. We're a little nicked and bruised."
Sooners to be without top rusher (knee) for final two games ESPN
Quote:
English has missed the last three games for the ninth-ranked Sooners (10-2, 6-2) since suffering a hairline fracture in his right leg against Texas A&M. He had a pin surgically inserted two weeks ago.
"He did some jogging and running around, so we'll see," Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops said after practice Monday night.

Stoops does expect to have backup Alan Davis back in time for the championship game. Davis started in place of English against Baylor and Texas Tech, but a concussion caused him to miss last week's game against Oklahoma State.
