Pac 10 has Peety, Dennis Erickson, Bellotti(sp) a Stoops and Ty. UCLA is TBD but thats a pretty solid lineup using the same standards.

Again, win your conference before you make the list

ACC you have to give B Bowden his due if you are going to do the same for Paterno. Butch Davis has proven his worth, Beamer is a national name.

I DO NOT have to give that liver spotted phony from the Clown College any due (sorry FSUbill - it just came out)

BE has Schiano, R Rod and the USF coach(name escapes me right now).

His 15 minutes of fame are up.

As with the teams I think the SEC and Big 10 are better in their mid to bottom tier coaches but all the BCS conferences can compete at the top.

yep

According to BP - it must be the coaching.

He already has. Pelini coached Nebraska to a 17-3 win over Michigan State in the 2003 Alamo Bowl, after Solich was dumped.
How many other teams will enter next season with a coach that's won a bowl game for their school, and is undefeated as a head coach?

But all due respect, apples and oranges.

Bull[censored]. He took I-AA talent and won I-AA championships...he won title after title with talent commensurate with the talent of his opponents. He's now doing the same thing with I-A talent. In fact, a I-AA championship is more impressive because you win it on the field and not in the polls. You know as well as I do that teams like Ohio State, Florida, LSU, USC, etc., get the media's benefit of the doubt when rankings are concerned. How else could LSU jump 2-3 idle teams and go from #7 to #2 in BCS standings? Tressel had none of that help at YSU. IIRC, of the six times he ran through the playoffs up to the NC game, YSU was never #1 or #2 going into the playoffs, and one time, YSU was #11 going into the playoffs (may have been the same year that YSU finished third in the Gateway Conference and still won the national title).

In the spirit of Christmas (and Strange Brew ), it is obvious that my denominational (SEC and Big Ten) brothers and sisters here are overlooking the unappreciated and oft scorned Independents, who have Charlie Weis in their midst as a coach. Thus, he is superior in every way than everyone and every accomplishment combined in the history of either conference, even better and more impressive than, well...
12 Pop Warners,
11 Frank Broyles,
10 Steve Spurriers,
9 Vince Dooleys,
8 Paul Browns,
7 Heisman winners,
6 Joe Paternos,
5...Tressel...Titles.......
4 Urban Meyers,
3 Bear Bryants,
2 guys named Bo,
and a Woody Hayes in a Buckeye tree
