your right nobody knocks SEC inconfernce games but I have heard plenty of people complain about the cream puffs many SEC teams schedule for OOC.

Hey there SELUTiger....when are you going to answer this question?

Um, this might not be the best year to knock our OOC schedule. (I know most years, OSU schedules stronger OOC than we do).

Question about this one for y'all. Obviously, it didn't happen this year, but it could have.

What happens if both Iowa and OSU went 12-0 this year, and didn't play each other. Who goes to the Rose Bowl (or BCS CG)?

Well first we would not decide who goes to the BCS CG. I guess if you mean for some reason niether team was ranked 1 or 2 (which is unlikely) then it is decided by the Big ten who goes to the Rose bowl which has happened in past years. I can't remember who actually votes on it though.

I can't speak for the other SEC teams, but in LSU's case we have a hard time getting any quality teams to schedule us and believe me, we have tried. Few teams are willing to play OOC teams that may beat them. The sad fact is that this is not going to change unless there is much more weight given to strength of schedule in determining NC, bowls, etc. Too many pollsters are hung up on won/loss numbers and it prevents a lot of really good matchups from ever being scheduled. In the last few years we have scheduled a different instate school each year. I am not in favor of it, but it does help out the state and both schools benifit financially, but it does knock down the SOS. As far as knocking the SEC OOC schedule though, the SOS that they already play is high enough in most cases. This year for example, about 7 or 8 SEC teams had top 20 SOS ratings. I doubt that any other conference comes close to that.

Lsu is a good team but please don't give this "we can't schedule better OOC games because nobody wants to play us" nonsense.

Since 2002 LSU has lost 15 games. In that same time OSU has lost 10. Yet OSU has not seemed to have a problem scheduling Home and Home games against Texas, USC, Oklahoma, Cali, Miami (FL) and va tech.

I doubt there are that many teams that are so much more afraid to play you then us and yet we managed to schedule some quailty OOC for the next 10 years.

and I was waiting to see how long the "Our conference is so tough we don't need to schedule tough OOC games" excuse came in too.

Yeah, I should have thought of that one on my own.

Someone in this thread (don't remember who) gave the example of UT, UGA, and LSU all having identical records, but neither UT nor UGA playing LSU. Only one of the two gets to play LSU in the SEC CG, and the other hasa legit beef about not getting a shot at them. How is that any different than the scenario I suggested for the Big Ten?

The better scenario to suggest would have been OSU and Iowa each finish 11-1, each lost to the same team, on the road, by similar margins. Neither team is in the top 2 (so that eliminates the BCS CG possibility), and only 1 of the 2 is getting a bid to a BCS game. One of the 2 schools is getting [censored]ed outta big money, and National spotlight.

your right our system is not perfect either but both do have their problems. Persoanlly I like the PAC-10 where every team plays each other but I suppose they could have the same problem there too.
