Why don't we just settle this on the field and open the gates with a playoff?
Instead of even scheduling games the regular season will be a real playoff--like so many BCS favoring pundits declare it already.
It will be great, we'll playoff to determine the winner of the Big 10. Then we'll be seeded to determine the winner of a region. Then we'll eventually have a National champion.
This way we settle it on the field once and for all.
You know what? LSU opens the season against Kentucky and they only play one game that year. Wouldn't that be great?

OSU opens with Illinois and also only plays one game.

That might be a valid point if I was whining about how we conduct our regular season, but I'm not. See the playoff thread if you want to know what I think needs changed in college football. The uproar caused by the questionable determination of a conference champion is only a faint whisper when compared to the way we select a national champion.
Besides, you guys are only mad because you think its unfair you have to play a championship game and we don't. Life is unfair. We've recovered from not winning outright Big 10 titles. Not going to a championship game you think you deserve a chance at is a horse of another color.

You're whining to the wrong audience. If you have such strong feelings about conference championships, write a letter to your school's president or A.D. It isn't our fault that LSU's officials and their counterparts at other SEC schools are more concerned about lining their pockets with cash from the SECCG.

We both go to the NCG, because everyone either has 2 losses or is Kansas or Hawaii.

I don't think it's unfair. I just think that the CG's are good for college football. The thing is, it's easy for SEC fans to say "just add teams to get to 12 and have one" because we're already there. Big 10 and Pac-10 fans don't want to do that. They think we should change to the way they do it. But that would mean either kicking teams out of the SEC or playing only 1 OOC game per year.
It's a preference thing, not a fairness issue IMO. I like the CG's, because they have a "playoff feel" to them.

I didn't really mean this year specifically. I just used this year's schedule, because I know y'all didn't play Iowa. Just meant that any given year, there are 2 conf. opponents y'all don't play. I don't think it's mathematically possible for 3 Big Ten teams to go unbeaten, but 2 is possible every year. I don't know how y'all tiebreakers work, which is why I asked how would it be decided (assuming neither team is going to the BCS CG).
