Pretty cut and dry here. Reggie on tape talking about the money he owes Lake, and LaMaR Griffin (Reggie's step-dad) talking about the money as well.

It will be interesting to see what happens. I don't think Reggie will keep his Heisman in the long run.

I think Griffin looks the worst in this...he's even on tape saying he doesn't want Reggie's mom finding out what's going on because she'd be [censored]ed.

I don't really see USC getting any NCAA violations out of this. More of a Maurice Clarett/OSU negative stain. I don't think there is much Pete Carol/USC can do when players and their step-fathers have tehir hands out looking for gifts/money.

Again, LaMar Griffin is a scumbag. I also enjoyed his conversation with Lake, stating Lake had no proof because the trangressions were done in cash, and you can't prove cash in court.

Lake shot that down real quick. "No, but I can show where I withdrew $12,000 and Reggie's down payment was $12,000 on his new car. It's circumstantial evidence." (paraphrasing)

A San Diego sports marketer claims in a new book that he gave former Southern California running back Reggie Bush nearly $300,000 in cash while Bush was still in college.
Based largely on interviews with Lloyd Lake, who tried to secure Bush as a client for the marketing company he attempted to launch, "Tarnished Heisman" claims the 2005 Heisman Trophy winner was provided with hotel stays, cash for shopping sprees and money to buy and customize a car.
The book's authors, Don Yaeger and Jim Henry, ac knowledge that Lake "has been compensated in return for his full cooperation," according to a story posted on the Los Angeles Times' Web site Thursday. Lake's family members also were quoted extensively.
