Given how bad their football program sucks, how did UNC get up there? And look what happened to Kentucky.... can't find them. They ought to join the ACC and kick some butt... course then they'd be up against some schools that really do care about basketball.

I dig it
UNC is not actually that bad at football, historically speaking. Mack Brown had some great years there. They went to several Gator Bowls and Peach Bowls.

Does 1974 have any significance other than it allows Oklahoma to include both their 1974 and 1975 NCs in the numbers?

No. I therefore move that 1974 be stricken from the record. 1975 too. I have no ulterior motive in this whatsoever.

Why not go with an even 30 then, 76 to 2006?

From same site, here is the results from the BCS era (since 1998).
Look at where scUM is ranked. And ND.

Again, same site.
Here is a breakdown of football only and basketball only. Each sport is broken down to BCS era and since 1974.
Football BCS era: OSU #2, scUM #12, ND...still looking for them
