South Alabama starts football, to be FBS (1-A) in 2013
South Alabama will start playing football in 2009, and look to join the Sun Belt Conference in 2013.
There is no truth to the rumor that Bobby Bowden tried to convince them to start a year earlier, so FSU could play them this September.
