Throw out USC and UCLA and Oregon's money. What Pac-10 team out there should be more competitive that isn't?

I was listening to the FAN on 1390 AM yesterday on the way home yesterday. The two commentators brought up an interesting point of view that I thought I would share. Now, I realize that this won't please my fellow Oregonian (OB), but here is what they shared.
From the last five years, Oregon and Oregon State have performed like this: Oregon Regular Season: 38-19 Bowl Games: 1-4 Overall Record: 39-23 Head-To-Head: 2-3 Oregon State Regular Season: 37.21 Bowl Games: 4-1 Overall Season Record: 38-22 Head-To-Head: 3-2 The discussion arose, because of the full page add that Neuheisel put out in the newspaper in LA. The thought is that Oregon has a much better marketing/propaganda machine than Oregon State while the product is just about identical for the last five years. This went into further discussion, but I'll just leave this post with the basic premise. I thought it was rather interesting. |

All I have to say is, duh! They're just now realizing this?

The Pac-10's SOS took a small hit as Washington lost 28-27 to BYU, due to a missed XP with 2 seconds left.
Locker scored on a great run with 2 seconds left, quickly tossed the ball behind his shoulder when he jumped up to celebrate with his teammates, and they hit him with a 15-yard excessive celebration. The 15-yards was marked off for the PAT, making it a 35-yarder, and BYU blocked it to avoid OT. The Pac-10 announcers were reaming the ref for the call, and rightly so. |

Man, the ref's stole the game!!!
Locker got up with the ball in his hands and just threw it over his shoulders to open his arms for his players! That was such BS! He didn't intentionally show-boat. The game is 1 point differential and the refs decided to use their flags on something questionable? With BYU's schedule, that very well may have been the best chance for an early upset. Also, Ty certainly needed and deserved that win. Bet ND fans wish he was still there. Last edited by SEREbuckeye; 09-06-2008 at 07:29 PM. |

Of course, both the penalty and the blocked XP were Ty Willingham's fault.

Of course they were...And ND is only struggling because they are using Ty's recruits.

Why not call a penalty after the blocked kick as well. Half of the BYU team ran out on the field to celebrate, including the kid that ran all the way to mid field with his helmet off.

They did, but that one was meaningless. The play was over, so it was marked on the kickoff, rather than half the distance and re-kick.
