Clemson [censored]ing sucks, and they always will. I'm tired of hearing about how good they are/their recruiting is. Every year it's the same crap, yet they manage to lose 4 games at the least.

It's yet another example of what really makes a team great. The trenches and turnovers. Clemson's OL is green. Doesn't matter how many great skill guys you have. You need a solid OL. That's why I don't think LSU will suffer a severe drop-off from last year like others do.

So just out of curiosity, how bad is the SEC conference spin going to be on this? Florida will claim they beat a team that went to a BCS bowl last year (which is true), Alabama beat a top 10 ranked team (which they did), Tennessee will beat the pants off of a BCS opponent in UCLA (which they will, but I hope I jinx the [censored] out of them), and SCU beat a BCS opponent (which is true).
Despite all of that being true, they didn't really beat any teams that are worth a damn. Clemson is chronically overrated due to the eternal [censored]tiness of Tommy Bowden, NC State sucks, and Hawaii is a [censored]ing joke. Even if Tennessee beats UCLA, it's still not impressive because UCLA is starting Phyllis [censored]ing Diller at quarterback. I know, I know - regional homerism. What's funny is that, despite the fact that none of these accomplishments are all that impressive, I was still impressed by the SEC (if for no other reason that they managed to avoid having their bottom shelf teams [censored] the bed against crappy opponents - something the Big Ten, ACC, and Big East really haven't been able to do).

Hawai'-June Jones-Colt Brennan-Bess= [censored].
Oh, and Mississppi St. lost to Louisiana Tech. That's gotta be a hit to the ego.

I think the real solution is for them to just secede from the NCAA altogether. After all, they feel that they are so superior to everybody else that their number of losses should not be given the same consideration as others. They truly believe that the SEC champion should be automatically in the BCS championship game, regardless of record.

Don't know what previews you read that I didn't, but other than talking about the transition no one I read excluded Michigan from possibly becoming good enough to challenge for the title. It has ot been the kind of team that "rebuilds" but one like like Ohio State that "reloads."
I don't have any idea just how good Utah is or how bad Michigan is, but you expect a perrenial Big 10 power to win games against non-BCS teams.

Cinci, I'm not sure what you've been reading either.
The title contenders were osu, wisconsin, Penn state, and illinois. The sexy pick as a sleeper was msu (not so much to win but make noise, like ill last year). All four of these were ranked.
Michigan was not entering this game as a good team. They were underdogs (iirc), at home, to an unranked non-bcs team.
Michigan was being picked by most to struggle this year. They weren't being picked for 10 wins, the typical record for a b10 champ.
I'm not sure what you meant by your rebuild sentence, with the typo, but um certainly has had to rebuild in recent years. 2005, 2007.
Is it ugly for the b10? Of course, but that's on name alone. The announcer said it best, they are now at the point where this is not an upset.
Msu and ill were not that embarrassing, imo. Decent outings against solid opponents, and arguably better teams.
