so i know this is football, but the best announcer in sports might be gus johnson. i was just watching some buckeye basketball clips on youtube and he called Lewis' 3 against X and also sylvester's 3 against ILL. the way he calls those games makes you want to jump out of your seat to this day. he was even getting a little fired up at our game vs BGSU the other day.

I liked Keith Jackson in the 70s 80s and early 90s, but after that, he really didn't know what was going on during the games. I like Danielson now.
There really isn't any announcer I dislike consistantly, except for Pam Ward. They all have their good games and bad games. I really don't like color commentary that is so obvious like "You have to make those kinds of catches" etc. The scout board has a thread on which big ten team gets "pammed" the most during the season. Probably the most worthwhile topic on that board imo. |

Eleven months before the "having a taco" comment. Good call.

Anyone hear Spielman talking up Youngstown & Massillon football/culture during the Penn State NW game? They were talking of course about Penn State products Daryll Clark from Y-town Ursuline and Brandon Beachum (soph RB) from Y-town Mooney. I don't get to hear him often but it's nice to hear a buckeye who speaks better about Ohio in a Penn State vs. NW game than another buckeye does even if he's doing national color in the shoe. Not afraid of the homer deal, comfortable with who he is and doesn't dress like a guest star in Miami-Vice.
