TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- Many of Alabama's highly regarded freshmen will be pressed into action immediately.

Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban expects to play close to 10 freshmen in the opener against No. 9 Clemson.

The Crimson Tide (No. 24 AP) has too many depth issues to let members of that top-rated recruiting class ease into their first season.

Saban says they will make some mistakes early but the team will be better in the long run.

He says Julio Jones has been one of the team's two most consistent receivers in practice, along with veteran Mike McCoy. Freshman B.J. Scott is also a candidate for playing time.

v$50K on Clemson. The Tigers could be dangerous this year if they had a competent head coach.

If Clemson shows that they have found an answer for their questions on the offensive line, they will cover easily.

I have no idea about that though, so I'm staying away from this one.
