Impact of Big Ten's Non-Conference Games
Utah at Michigan
Michigan State - Cal
Illinois - Mizzou
Should the Big 10 lose those three it could be much more difficult to get the Bucks to the BCS NC, win over USC or no.

Important? Yes. To the point where even a win over SC wouldn't matter?
No way.
USC are the glamour boys for most of the media. You win there, they'll jump on your nuts.

If we win all our games, with the @ USC win, we will be in the NC game. Now, Big 10 OOC games will come into play if we lose 1 game. That's for sure. I could see us winning all 3 of these games. Would make a big statement to the country, although i'm sure ESPiN wouldn't even make note of it, and still complain about how bad the Big Ten is.

I think if we beat USC and run the table we're in regardless of what the rest of the Big Ten does OOC. Similarly, if we lose to USC and run the table, I think we're out regardless of what the rest of the Big Ten does OOC. That being said the Big Ten (ourselves included) definitely needs to show up OOC just to shut the rest of the country up. Bottom line though is I think we control our own destiny.

Regardless, because I'm tired of casual college football fans telling me how much the Big 10 sucks, it would be very nice for them to come away from those games 3-0.

I think Mizzou is going to blow out Illinois. MSU will be close...as will scUM.

That's true unless there's an undefeated team from both the SEC and the Big 12. They are in strong conferences, and would get a late boost from their CCG victories. The SEC team would be in for sure, and then it's a beauty contest between tOSU and whichever of Oklahoma/Mizzou/Texas went 13-0. Then the conference's performance in OOC games becomes very important.
As it is in deciding between two 1-loss teams, which is more likely.
