Have you been to Salt's in Austin?

As long it isn't that vinegar and mustard grey stuff the Carolina folks call barbeque. Looks like month old road kill and tastes awful.

Beautiful.

So, did any Utah players say how it was MWC speed that Alabama couldn't hang with like that idiot Sanders did after the game vs Florida? Or is simply winning enough for them?

Notre Dame has plenty of 5 star recruits and they have plenty of "athletes"...just another example of why that makes no difference.

What do you call the kids who play for teams not in the top 20? I still call them athletes, they are playing sports.

This strange athlete definition of yours, is it some 40 time or something? Getting hit is getting hit. This isn't Hawaii where it's hard to get a full complement of players who match up size wise with other teams because they are so geographically disposed.

I'd argue that your "athletes" are actually easier to play against. Many of them think they are gods gift, they don't have to play as hard to beat the guy next to them. They have egos and future NFL careers to think of, they don't want to get injured.

Give me joe lineman who is out there because he likes to inflict pain over your Miami "athletes" any day.

Go look in your book of sports cliches for the next reason why Utah doesn't deserve to be in the National Championship discussion and get back to me.

So you're saying only in games where the odds are even or against them is there a "reasonable chance of defeat"?

What I think I'm saying is that the Top 20 programs, the Ohio States, Michigans, USCs, Texas, Oklahomas, Alabamas of this world, teams that enter damn near every season with a legitimate hope of getting to the NC, seldom have more than 3 or 4 games on their schedule that are toss ups in terms of talent, coaching, money, tradition. e.g. who did you think had a real shot at beating OSU this year other than USC and Penn State? Wisconsin, maybe.

That doesn't mean that upsets won't/don't happen. Just ask Utah and Appalachain State.

I might make an exception for the current SEC where the number of teams with the potential to get to the NC in any given year has probably increased to include Alabama, Tennessee, LSU, Florida and Georgia with Auburn tagging right behind.
